Assistant Professor in the Department of Art & Design
The Department of Art and Design in the School of Art, Design, & Architecture at Judson University invites applications for a full-time, assistant professor rank faculty position in Visual Communication: Graphic Design. The position could become tenure track. The appointment will begin August 2014. The application process will remain open until filled.
Candidates with the ability to teach digital photography and video production in addition to graphic design are encouraged to apply. Based on qualifications and experience, teaching duties may include print, web, and multimedia courses. Other faculty duties include student advising and participation in university committee service.
Candidates must be active designers with a portfolio that demonstrates design fluency across media, hold a terminal degree in visual communications, graphic design or other relevant field of study. Candidates must show competence in print, web, interaction/user experience design, design history and theory, and professional practice. Thorough knowledge of the Macintosh platform and current Adobe software is required. Candidates must have a Christian commitment and be willing to affirm the university’s mission and community standards (see www.judsonu.edu/about/).
Salary is based on qualifications, education and work experience.
