Educational Research and Instruction - Faculty Position
The School of Education at Judson University invites applications for a tenure-track, open rank faculty position in Educational Research and Instruction to teach in the graduate programs in Literacy. The appointment will begin August 2014. The application process will remain open until December 31, 2013.
Duties include teaching graduate-level research courses with an emphasis on qualitative, mixed method, and action research studies; conducting research; and assisting in the development of graduate faculty professional development communities. The successful candidate is expected to conduct an active research agenda and produce scholarly work in the field of education.
Candidates must 1) hold an earned doctorate, 2) have a strong scholarly record with evidence of ability to conduct and disseminate educational research, 3) show evidence of superlative teaching experience at the graduate level, 4) possess excellent interpersonal skills in relation to faculty, administration, staff, and students and 5) have demonstrated commitment to his/her Christian faith. Key Job Elements: 1) Design and deliver instruction through the development of robust syllabi and purposeful activities to meet course competencies , 2) Contribute to the development of a doctoral level program in literacy, 3) Guide graduate level candidates through the process of research, 4) Coordinate and serve on graduate level research committee(s) as needed, 5) Contribute regularly to the research community, 6) Recommend texts, instructional materials, and other resources as needed, 7) Consult with Program Directors and the Dean of the School of Education on matters pertaining to departmental issues or concerns; observe proper channels of communication, 8) Participate in faculty and professional organizations and attend scheduled professional development program meetings
