Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry (Tenure Track)

Job Summary:

The Department of Science and Mathematics at Judson University seeks applications from individuals to fill a full-time professor in Chemistry and Biochemistry, at the assistant or associate level, starting AY2019-2020. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare lessons, select homework assignments as necessary, and create tests and quizzes over the appropriate textbook sections. Give lectures and/or active learning work during class times as appropriate to the course goals. Respond to student questions (often via email) and evaluate student work. Each course comes with a laboratory component for which the instructor is responsible. The position includes teaching introductory and upper level undergraduate chemistry and biochemistry courses including organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and possibly physical chemistry. Candidates with the potential to develop and sustain a research program that would involve undergraduates will receive special consideration. The duties of the position also include student advising and participation in department and university governance.


Candidates must 1) hold an earned master’s degree, doctorate preferred, in Biochemistry or Chemistry, 2) possess a commitment to the Mission, Educational Goals, and Community Standards of the University, 3) support Christian liberal arts education, with the ability to integrate faith and the discipline of Computer Science in an engaging and compelling manner, and 4) possess collaborative skills to work with colleagues across the Science and Mathematics Department and throughout the University.
