Campus Safety Department Patrol Officer
This is a part-time 12-month position reporting to the Campus Safety Director.
Main duties include: Patrolling the University’s Elgin campus, providing for safety and security. Providing safety escorts upon request. Performing traffic and crowd control duties as needed. Enforcing Judson University rules and regulations. Responding to emergency calls and initiate appropriate JUCS procedures. Managing confrontations with hostile subjects until assisted by supervisor or police. Properly use life safety equipment and perform basic first aid in emergency situations. Monitoring and operating campus fireboards and alarm systems. Working with police and fire personnel as needed. Accurately completing required forms and reports. Performing other duties deemed necessary for safe and successful operations on the Judson campus. Successfully complete department training during 45 day probationary period. Successfully complete scheduled performance appraisals
The successful candidate will have previous military, security or police experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be a team player, and be able to model and teach job-related skills to others. Some computer skills are required. Candidates should be in agreement with the Christian mission of the University.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Part time positions are not eligible for benefits with the exception of possible participation in the retirement savings plan and paid holidays (on a pro-rated basis).
