Head Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach
This is a part-time, 12-month position reporting to the Athletic Director.
Manages and directs all aspects of the cross country program. Recruits student-athletes by University and NAIA policies and meets goals for roster size. Reports to the Head Track and Field Coach during Indoor and Outdoor Track Season as an assistant coach. Creates training plans that help maximize each athlete’s potential. Maintains budget operations and follows expenditure procedures. Coordinates fundraising efforts. Coordinates team travel arrangements including reservation of vehicles, lodging, and meals. Monitors academic progress of student-athletes. Coordinates team community service activities. Challenges athletes to grow spiritually. Disciplines student-athletes when necessary. Ensures student-athletes practice good sportsmanship and abide by team/departmental policies. Ensures knowledge and compliance of current University, Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC), and NAIA policies and procedures. Responsible for inventory of equipment and uniforms. Works closely with Sports Information Director for meet management, results, releases, and recommendations of student-athletes for awards and special recognition. Works closely with Athletic Director on all eligibility and compliance issues. Works closely with Athletic Trainer for ongoing care, strength and conditioning, and injury prevention of student-athletes. Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. Demonstrates commitment to a Christian liberal arts education by upholding the mission of the University and modeling a Christian lifestyle.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organization skills. Previous collegiate coaching experience and experience in recruiting student-athletes are strong preferences. A bachelor's degree is required and a master's degree is preferred.
