Interim Vice President of Business Affairs
John Potter has faithfully served Judson's business needs for 11 years since being hired as the university's director of accounting in 2001. He held the interim vice president position from May 2002 to December 2002, and he returned to this role in May 2012 after Laine Malmquist announced his retirement.
Before joining the Judson community, John worked in the field of accounting and finance for both corporate (ADP, MetLife/Travelers/MetraHealth Insurance, MCI/Worldcom) and non-profit organizations (Brentwood Baptist Christian Academy-Des Plaines, Bethel Ministries-Schaumburg, Mather Foundation-Evanston). He earned his Bachelor's Degree from Bob Jones University in 1979, his Masters Degree in Accounting from Roosevelt University in 1990, and his CPA Certification from the State of Illinois in 1992.
John and his wife, Lynn, currently reside in Mt. Prospect, Ill. They are long-standing members of Bethel Baptist Church (Roselle, Ill.) where Lynn teaches Kindergarten at Schaumburg Christian School. The couple have three grown daughters and several grandchildren.
