Nancy Binger

Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Strategic Planning

Nancy BingerAfter serving the Judson University Athletics Department for 10 years, Nancy (Smith) Binger ‘97 left the athletic department in August 2011 with a promotion within Judson University. Binger has been promoted to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Strategic Planning.

Nancy returned to Judson University in 2001 as the Director of Athletic Marketing and Promotions and revamped the look of athletics through marketing and sports information. The 1997 business graduate spent four years in that position before being promoted to Associate Athletic Director in 2005. In 2007, she took over as the Director of Athletics and helped move all the programs forward. She received her Master’s in Sports Management from Northern Illinois University in 2010.

In just four years as the athletic director, Nancy added 12 sports, oversaw major renovations to the softball field and tennis courts, was part of bringing the Chicago Bandits to campus, hired 10 new coaches and saw programs enter the NAIA National Poll as well as win their first CCAC Championships.

In cooperation with the city of Elgin, Nancy coordinated the renovations to the tennis courts and softball field. The biggest renovation took place in spring 2008 as the softball field received $750,000 face lift to host the professional softball team Chicago Bandits. The Bandits played on campus for three seasons from 2008-2010 as Judson University received exposure through the National Pro Fastpitch league.

Nancy’s tie to Judson started as a student-athlete on the women’s basketball team. The four-year letterman was a NCCAA All-American and a NAIA Great Lakes All-Sectional member. She was a part of Judson’s first-ever NAIA National Tournament team in 1995-96, a two-year captain, and on the program’s first ever 20-win team in 1994-95. She was also a member of the 21 wins in 1995-96 and then named Judson’s Female Athlete of the Year in 1997.

Before coming to Judson, Nancy spent three years at the NCAA Division I Summit League (formerly the Mid-Continent Conference) as the Director of Media Relations.

Now as Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Strategic Planning, Nancy takes her experience from the Athletic arena to the enrollment services team as Judson tries to increase its student body for all majors.
