Department of Art & Design
Judson University's Department of Art and Design offers degree programs in Fine Art, General Art, Visual Communications: Graphic Design, Visual Communications: Photography, and is part of the School of Art, Design and Architecture. We are housed in the Harm A. Weber Academic Center, a green facility, which offers studio space for all of our students and houses the university's library. Our convenient Chicagoland location delivers close access to metropolitan exposure with professional internship and exhibition opportunities, while providing a scenic campus to call home.
We offer a small school culture and big university programming with connections to Chicago, degree programs of 70+ credit hours, experienced faculty teaching at all levels (including the first year), lots of guest critics and visiting lecturers, and professional internships after only two years of coursework.
Of all our peer institutions nationwide, we offer one of the most comprehensive 4-year fine art and graphic design educations, the greenest facilities, and the greatest number of career-ready students.
Our students are serious about learning, and our art programs and design programs give them the class time and faculty knowledge to do it.
Interested in our Program?
Judson University's Department of Art and Design offers knowledgeable faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and programming that will help you prepare for a career in the arts. Over the past five years our incoming students have averaged a 23 on their ACT's. This translates into students who are interested in learning and creating a studio culture that prepares them to achieve excellence. With almost twice as many studio classes as our competing institutions, class sizes limited to 15 students, and studio classes with only fellow School of Art, Design and Architecture students, our students learn at an accelerated rate and graduate prepared to achieve success in the real world.
Art and Design Merit Scholarships
Need some financial help (who doesn't)? We offer Merit Scholarships to incoming art and design majors based on a digital portfolio evaluation on top of the financial aid the university already offers.
Want to graduate in 4 years? Our four-year plans are designed as a road map to help you do that. All the major courses are highlighted in bold.
