Alvin Bibbs to Give Keynote Presentation at Judson's Prayer Breakfast
(Elgin, Ill. February 17, 2010) Judson’s annual Golden Corridor Prayer Breakfast will feature keynote speaker is Alvin Bibbs Sr., executive director of Multi-Cultural Church Relations with the Willow Creek Association. The annual community event will be held from 7:30 -9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in the Lindner Fitness Center.
Prior to his position with Willow Creek, he was the Heartland Regional Director of Young Life. In 1996, he was featured as one of the Top 50 “Up and Coming” Evangelical Leaders in the country under 40 years of age. Bibbs also served as the Chicago Cubs chaplain for seven seasons. Alvin’s book, titled Crazy Enough to Care: Changing Your World Through Compassion, Justice and Racial Reconciliation was recently released in 2009.
Other program participants for the Prayer Breakfast include: Solange Sior of Elgin’s O.P.E.R.A.; Tony Danhelka of Riverwoods Christian Center; Judson alumnus Calvin Culpepper of Cornerstone United Methodist Church; Paula Amenta of Elgin Community College; Judson trustee Bruce Strom of Administer Justice; and Judson alumnus Laura Zimmerman of Harvest Bible Chapel.
Online registration is not available yet, but more details will be provided as the event draws near. Tickets for individuals will be $16 and Judson faculty, staff and students will receive a discounted rate of $12. Table sponsorships will be $350 for a table of 8.
