Bob Romo to Speak During Weber Building Tour as Part of Elgin’s Sustainability Conference

Judson’s Harm A. Weber building will be one of five Elgin buildings featured in a Sustainable Governance Conference that will be held on Friday, April 23, at the Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way, Elgin. Titled "Saving the Green: Turning Challenge into Opportunity," the conference will feature national and municipal sustainability experts and business professionals who will show how to design and develop sustainable communities that are economically vibrant and fiscally sound.

In the afternoon, conference attendees will tour the Harm A. Weber Academic Center. During that tour, Judson is pleased to welcome Bob Romo, senior program officer for the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation, who will give a short presentation about grant writing for sustainability projects.

The conference’s keynote speaker is John Norquist, president of the Congress for New Urbanism. The luncheon will feature a program headed by Judson President Jerry Cain and Architecture Department Chair Keelan Kaiser. Also speaking at the luncheon will be Nanette Andersson, who facilitated the Gold Leeds certification process for the building, and John Shales of Shales McNutt Construction, whose firm constructed Judson’s Gold Leed building, which houses Judson’s School of Art, Design and Architecture and the university’s library.
