Judson University seeks films of spiritual significance for Midwest, faith-based festival
(ELGIN, IL- December 16, 2011) – Judson University is now accepting film submissions for the eighth annual Imago Film Festival to be held March 26-March 30, 2012 at Judson University in Elgin. The Imago Film Festival showcases faith-based indy films that emphasize image and story.
The early deadline for submission is December 20 with a fee of $30 and the late deadline is February 20 with a fee of $40. Submissions must be less than 30 minutes in length in DVD format and deal with images and stories about the spiritual journey of the human experience through any genre the filmmaker sees fit. Filmmakers may submit as many entries as they like. Films will be judged by a panel of local university film and media professors as well as professionals in the field.
This year’s film festival will screen original films and feature nationally known speakers; past speakers have included David McFadzean (creator of Home Improvement), David Nixon (producer of To Write Love on Her Arms) and Phil Vischer (creator of Veggie Tales). There will also be film discussions, workshops, and an awards ceremony. The prizes for the winning films are as follows:
Best of Show - $1000
First Prize (1-15 min) - $250
First Prize (15-30 min) - $250
Audience Choice Award - $100
