Condoleezza Rice to Keynote Judson University’s 2014 World Leaders Forum

(Elgin, IL - November 15, 2013) Judson University announced today that Condoleezza Rice will keynote its fourth annual World Leaders Forum on March 19, 2014. Rice, the first African American woman to serve as Secretary of State, will speak about global leadership at two events – a community event at Judson University in Elgin and a VIP reception later that night in Chicago. CondiRiceWLF

“We are honored to welcome an innovative leader with a unique global perspective to Judson,” said Judson University President Dr. Gene Crume. “Dr. Rice was at the top of our wish list, and we look forward to learning from her incredible perspective next March.”

In its first three years, the World Leaders Forum was keynoted by George W. Bush, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Tony Blair, respectively. The goal of this annual event is to offer Judson students and area professionals an opportunity to be inspired by significant thought leaders with a global perspective. Funds raised from the World Leaders Forum goes toward scholarships for current Judson University students and an endowment to start an Entrepreneurial Studies program at Judson.

The City of Elgin is a partner and strong supporter of the World Leaders Forum.

“The World Leaders Forum is a wonderful event that is a perfect fit for our community,” said Elgin Mayor Dave Kaptain. “Elgin is home to many corporations with international presences, so this global event impeccably complements the business climate in our community.”

The 2014 World Leaders Forum will feature a community event at 3 p.m. at the Judson University Herrick Chapel, and a VIP reception later that day at the Hilton in downtown Chicago (720 S. Michigan Ave.). At both events, Dr. Rice’s presentations will be followed by question and answer sessions. Sponsors of the VIP event will also have a photo opportunity with Dr. Rice.

Tickets to the VIP event are available to the public. With limited seating available for the community event, Judson students, faculty, staff and alumni will be given first priority until January 1, when the general public will be able to purchase tickets.
