Fasano to Speak at Judson

Fasano(Elgin, IL  January 6, 2010) Former Major League Baseball player and current Double A Manager Sal Fasano will speak at Judson University from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the First Pitch Bash Fundraiser for the Judson University Baseball Team on Saturday, January 29. The event is set to take place at the Lindner Fitness Center and tickets can be purchased for $5 from Rich Benjamin in the Judson University Athletics Office. 

2010 Baseball TeamFasano is an 11-year veteran of Major League Baseball as a catcher who played for nine different teams in the National and American Leagues. He is currently manager of the Double A Eastern League, a Minor League affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays organization. Fasano is originally from Hoffman Estates, Ill.

The Judson University Baseball Team experienced many firsts in their spring 2010 season. With 39 wins this spring, they surpassed their 30-win record from the spring 2009 season. To add to the team's growing success, they earned an automatic bid for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) World Series for the third time. Festivities for the First Pitch Fundraiser will also include a baseball-park atmosphere with ballpark food and a chance for participants to bid on silent auction items. The baseball team will also show an introduction video of the 2011 team members.
