Hasi Smith is Elevated to Chief Operating Officer

Hasi Smith - COO(ELGIN, IL – June 15, 2018) Judson University has announced that Vice President for University Information Systems and Technology Hasi Smith has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

Effective June 1, Smith now oversees Information Systems and Technology, Campus Safety, Campus Post Office and Plant Operations at the university.

Smith joined the Judson community in February 2016 as the Vice President for Information Systems. She had previously spent the best of two decades as director of Information Systems and Telecommunications at Delnor Health Care System in Geneva, Ill.

Since arriving at Judson, Smith has found innovative ways to problem solve IT challenges with a small team of resources and budget. She was instrumental in tapping into a larger fiber optic network partnership with Kane County, the City of Elgin and NIU to extend the Wi-Fi system for Judson students. She also used LEAN solutions, standardized workflows and improved processes within IT as well as other parts of campus to improve effectiveness, customer service and student experiences overall.

During her brief tenure, she has made customer service, staff development and a culture of change top priorities. To that end, she has not only streamlined processes for Information Technologies around campus but also led and directed the university’s Campus Safety, Campus Post Office and Switchboard operations. During this time, the Campus Post Office system has been digitized and upgraded under her watch. She also has set clear measurable-performance expectations and goals for each department under her watch.
