Hoffman Voted NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week

(Elgin, IL - September 26, 2011) Judson University women's soccer goalie Sara Hoffman (Algonquin, Ill./Huntley HS) was honored as NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week, her second award for the week of September 19-24. On Monday, September 19 she was named the CCAC Player of the Week for the second week in a row before being voted the NAIA National Player of the Week.

This is the second time in Hoffman's career that she has been named the NAIA National Player of the Week, after receiving the award in October 2010. Hoffman finished this past week with two more shutouts and 11 saves in a 0-0 tie with Marian (Ind.) and a 1-0 win over Saint Francis (Ind.).  She hasn't let a goal by her in 477 minutes as the last goal scored came on August 28 vs. #12 Graceland in the 37th minute.  For the season, she has a 0.150 goals against average which is third in the NAIA and six shutouts.

Judson is currently 6-1-1 after an upset win over No.4 Robert Morris University on Saturday, September 24. The win was the women's soccer program's first ever win over a NAIA Top 5 program.
