Judson Board of Trustees Announces Members of Presidential Search Committee
(Elgin, IL – September 16, 2010) The executive committee of the Judson University Board of Trustees announces the appointment of a presidential search committee which will lead the effort in selecting the university's sixth president. The 13-member committee is comprised of representatives from the board of trustees, faculty, staff, alumni, and students.
Mrs. Carol Thompson is Chief Operating Officer and Publisher at Christianity Today International in Carol Stream, Ill., and will chair the search committee. Carol is a 1977 alum of Judson University, has been a trustee for 12 years, and is chair of the Board. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Elgin.
Rev. Dr. Nathaniel Edmond, pastor of Second Baptist Church of Elgin, has served as a Judson University trustee for seven years and is currently chair of the Board's External Relations Committee. Prior to serving as a pastor, he spent 31 years with Alcoa Aluminum with the last six years as Vice President.
Rev. Dr. Randy Gauger has been pastor of First Baptist Church of Champaign at Savoy, Ill., for 15 years. A 1969 Judson alum, he has served as a trustee for 15 years and is vice-chair of the Judson Board.
Dr. Karen Maudlin is an executive coach, clinical psychologist, author and owner of Maudlin & Associates in Wheaton, IL. A trustee for four years, Karen serves on the Academic Affairs Committee. She is a member of Glen Ellyn Evangelical Covenant Church.
Mr. Kevin Noe is a retired business executive from the Tata Group and former CEO of a technology company he founded and led for 15 years. A 1979 alum of Judson University, Kevin has served as a trustee for four years and chairs the Business Affairs Committee. He is a member of Grace Chapel in Englewood, Colo.
Mr. John Shales is a founding partner of Shales McNutt Construction in Elgin. A Judson trustee for two years, John is the chair of the Board's Personnel Committee. He is a member of Harvest Bible Chapel.
Mrs. Fran Street is a former missionary in Scotland and a college-level English Instructor. She is a parent of two Judson University students, has been a trustee for 12 years, and serves on the Academic Affairs Committee. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Mahomet, Ill.
Mr. Bruce Strom is the Executive Director of Administer Justice in Elgin, Ill., a not-for-profit legal aid ministry. A 1987 alum of Judson University, Bruce has been a trustee for seven years and chairs the Student Development Committee. He is a member of Fox Valley Evangelical Free Church in West Dundee, Ill.
Dr. Rolanda Burris is the Director of Academic Assistance at Judson. She has been a staff member for six years. Prior to coming to Judson, she was a lecturer at Barat College of DePaul University and Associate Dean of Students for Academic Support at Lake Forest College. She has been a long standing member of St. John Church Baptist and recently joined Skokie Valley Baptist Church.
Patrick Linder is a junior architecture major and president of the Judson Student Organization. He is the chief liaison between the student body and Judson staff, faculty and administration. He also oversees a group of student representatives that respond to the needs and concerns of the student body. Patrick is a member of First Redeemer Church in St. Charles, Ill.
Dr. Patrick Alden is a tenured professor in the School of Leadership and Business and has been in the university's business department for 20 years. Prior to coming to Judson, Dr. Alden was a business manager and management instructor in corporate education and training for AT&T. He is a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Westchester, Ill.
Dr. Jhennifer Amundson is a tenured professor in the School of Art, Design & Architecture. She has been in the architecture department for 10 years and is currently engaged with work on architect Thomas U. Walter in preparation for a book. She attends Redeemer Fellowship Church in St. Charles, Ill.
Dr. Robert Wallace has completed his first year as associate professor in Biblical and Theological Studies at Judson. Prior to coming to Judson, he served as Director of International Programs and Assistant Professor of Religion at Shorter College in Rome, Ga. He attends Willow Creek Community Church.
The executive search firm, SIMA International, has been engaged to assist the search committee in the process. Dr. Tommy Thomas, Managing Director, and Laura Coverstone, Director of Operations, will be working closely with the committee in a nationwide search.
The first meeting of the search committee will be held later this month. Periodic updates from the committee will be made to the campus community.
