Judson Choir to Embark on Europe Fundraising Tour

JU Choir Tour 18(ELGIN, IL – March 12, 2018) The Judson University Choir is set to go to Europe in May, but before that time, choir members will travel to three churches in Indiana to perform and raise funds for the 14-day European tour.

“The Europe tour is expensive (twice as much as the cost of the Jamaica tours we have done in years past), and so we are fundraising for the Europe tour with the hope that students who are struggling a bit to reach the support goal will be assisted in their efforts,” said Choir Director Dr. Warren J. Anderson, who also directs the Demoss Center for Worship in the Performing Arts.

The Europe Tour will include a large group, including 39 students, Dr. Anderson, Artist-in-Residence Huntley Brown, Judson President Dr. Gene Crume and his wife, Cindy, and Board Trustee Dennis Demoss and his wife, JoAnn.

The fundraising tour will include the following stops:

On Saturday, April 7, at 6 p.m., the choir will perform at Russellville Community Church, located at 103 W. Third St. in Russellville, Ind.

On Sunday, April 8, the choir will travel to Shelbyville, Ind., and sing as part of a special assembly for Hope’s Point Church at the Shelbyville High School Auditorium at 10:30 a.m. The high school is located at 2003 S. Miller Street in Shelbyville.

“The Sunday morning worship service, in particular, will be a highlight. Hope’s Point Church is inviting the entire Shelbyville, Ind., community to join us, and they’re holding the service at a local high school. It should be quite a morning.”

The fundraising tour will end with a 6 p.m. concert at The Bridge Church, which is located at 611 Vitality Drive in Fortville, Ind.

“In addition to raising funds, of course, we hope to bless the congregations for whom we’ll be singing,” said Dr. Anderson.
