Judson Music Department Invites Community to Spring Concert Series
(ELGIN, IL April 11, 2011) The public is invited to attend two concerts to be held by the Judson University’s Music Department.
Judson’s Symphonic Band will give a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, in the Herrick Chapel on Judson’s Elgin campus. The band with perform “The Sounds of Spring: A Concert Overture for Winds” by Alfred Reed, “Shenandoah” arranged by Frank Ticheli, and “On An American Spiritual” by David R. Holsinger. The band will also perform “March and Procession of Bacchus” by Leo Delibes, “Ticheli’s Le Belle et le Capitaine” and “Belle.” The concert will also perform “Raiders March” from Raiders of the Lost Ark by John Williams.
Finally, Judson’s Choir will give a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, in the Herrick Chapel on Judson’s Elgin campus. An instrumental prelude will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are needed for concerts held at Judson. Tickets for the Judson Community (JU students included) are free as well as children under 12, $5 for students and seniors, and $10 for adults. For more information, please contact the Music Office at 847-628-1110.
