Judson Professor Dr. Steven Layne Adds New Title to Book Series


Dr. Steven Layne(ELGIN, IL – September 11, 2018) Judson University Professor Dr. Steven L. Layne is chair of Judson’s Graduate Programs in Literacy Education as well as a prolific writer and sought-after speaker and literacy consultant.

To date, he has written more than 30 books, including this latest release, “Play with Puppy” (Pelican Publishing Company, 2018). It’s the fourth book in his Growing with Family Series.

For nearly 20 years, Dr. Layne has written textbooks for educators as well as picture books, poetry collections and young adult novels. He travels the world over speaking on matters of literacy and learning trends and was the founder of Judson’s biannual “A Day at Judson” seminar series and the summer “Literacy in Motion” conference. Additionally, he directs Judson’s Graduate Programs in Literacy Education and teaches within the Division of Education.

Play with PuppyIn this vibrant 32-page book, illustrated by award-winning author Ard Hoyt, Dr. Layne captures a child’s classic longing for a pet and introduces the realities of owning one. Indeed, Puppy’s experiences are ones that any child can relate to.
