Judson Seniors Produce Song in Response to Mass Shootings in Las Vegas

Tim Caffee song(ELGIN, IL – October 3, 2017) Worship Arts senior Tim Caffee (at left) and Music Business and Entrepreneurship senior Josiah Vik (below, right) have produced a touching song called “For Nevada,” in response to the mass shootings that took place in Las Vegas, Nev., this weekend.

The two seniors, who have collaborated on recording projects before in Judson’s Dark Room Studios, quickly produced this song and joined efforts to support the Las Vegas Victims’ Fund crowdfunding page to raise money for the shooting victims and survivors.

They produced and published a video of the song, “For Nevada,” to YouTube with the help of Music Business and Entrepreneurship alum Jeremy Yap ’16.

Caffee, who wrote the song, took to Twitter following the tragedy and asked the community to reach out in support. “This is a personal response to the tragedy,” he said. “Keep loving. Keep loving. Keep loving.”

Vik also responded to the tragedy on social media. “At a time that we are often lost for words, sometimes the simple sentence ‘we are weeping with...’ is all we can muster,” he said on his Facebook page. “Weep with us, pray with us, stand with us, love others with us. May this song bless you as much as it has blessed us today.”
