Judson Students Serve Internationally Over Spring Break
(Elgin, IL - February 29, 2012) Every year, Judson students spend their spring break serving ministry organizations across the globe. This year, from March 2-11, students will again travel internationally to serve organizations such as the John Perkins Foundation in Jackson, Miss., the Adventure Learning Center in the Bahamas, the Del Camino Network in the Dominican Republic, and Paz y Esperanza in Peru.
A group of students are also planning a trip to serve the Organization of Christian Ministries in Nakuru, Kenya in December 2012.
Students serve these organizations in a variety of capacities, including construction work, child care, and worship leadership. They spend time with victims of abuse, the homeless and underprivileged, and learn from organizations as they advocate social justice, racial equality and humanitarian rights for their communities. Other groups of students will also be traveling and sharing their talents and skills with communities across the United States. The Judson University Choir will be performing in churches across Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Ohio in the coming week. See the full schedule of choir tour dates and locations here.
The Judson University Athletics teams will also travel nationwide, as the baseball team heads to Ormond Beach, Fla., the softball team to Tucson, Ariz., and the men's and women's tennis teams to Orlando, Fla. Five women's track and field athletes will also compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Indoor National Championships in Ohio during the coming weekend.
