Judson Congratulates December Graduates
(ELGIN, IL. - December 16, 2010) One hundred fifty students graduated during Judson University’s 63rd bi-annual commencement held Saturday, December 11, at the Lindner Fitness Center in Elgin, Ill. Several students received special recognitions for their academic and leadership achievements.
Joan Ellen Breiling of Sycamore, Ill., received the President's Scholar Award for the Adult Undergraduate Award. She received her degree in Human Resource Management. The Student Service Award for Judson's Traditional Undergraduate Program was bestowed on Debra Weissman of Elgin, who earned a degree in Physical Education. Finally, Johannes Wigard of Graz, Austria, received the Ames Leadership Award, which is given to the outstanding graduate of the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership program.
One hundred fourteen students graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Thirty-six graduated with a Master's degree, among them 24 graduates from Judson's Master of Education in Literacy program and 12 from the Master of Organizational Leadership program.
During the Commencement exercise, Judson's graduates and their families received a special prayer and greeting for Dr. Komei Sasaki, president of the Shokei Gakuin University of Japan. Also, they heard keynote address given by Elgin Pastor and Judson Trustee Nathaniel Edmonds. Edmonds serves as pastor of the Second Baptist Church of Elgin, Ill.
