Judson University and LULAC Council #5236 Award Hispanic Students with Scholarships
(Elgin, IL - September 17, 2013) LULAC Council #5236 awarded three Latino Judson University students scholarships at their annual meeting and awards ceremony on Saturday, September 7.
Through an ongoing partnership between Judson University and LULAC Council #5236, each of the five students was awarded $5,000 toward their tuition with Judson. This is the fifth year of a 10-year, $200,000 scholarship program to support deserving Latinos students to attend Judson University.
The 2013-14 LULAC scholars include Monica Agama of Yorkville, Ill., Alegandra Fabian of Elgin, Ill., and Kristina Fisher of St. Charles, Ill. Three other students were continuing recipients from previous years: Kevin Lopez of Elgin, Ill., Leticia Joy Perez of Harvard, Ill., and Mary Lou Bartolon of Dudley, N.C.
Founded in 1929, LULAC is the oldest Hispanic civic organization in the U.S. Council #5236 boasts more than 30 active and committed members and more than a decade of service to the Elgin, Carpentersville and Dundee communities.
