Judson University's School of Education to Host Sixth Annual Literacy in Motion Conference June 17 - 20
(Elgin, IL – May 19, 2014) Judson's School of Education will host its annual "Literacy in Motion" Conference from Tuesday, June 17 to Friday, June 20 at the Creekside South Education Building (1151 N. State St., Elgin).
This annual conference welcomes hundreds of educators from all over the world to hear from a diverse group of speakers about new instructional methods for elevating literacy in K-12 students. In years past, Literacy in Motion has welcomed educators from as far away as Australia. Educators who attend all four days of the conference can earn 18 CPDUs, or enroll for graduate credit.
“Judson is pleased to offer this annual conference with high quality speakers at a very reasonable cost as we partner with schools districts to better prepare students for the literacy challenges and success they will experience throughout their K-12 education,” says Dr. Steve Layne, professor and director of the Literacy in Motion event.
Speakers for this year's conference will include close-reading expert Doug Fisher, literacy coach Penny Kittle, and award-winning authors Denise Brennan-Nelson, Ben Mikaelsen, Peter Johnston, and Sara Holbrook.
Registration for this conference is $320, with limited availability. As of May 19, there are only 15 spaces left. To view the conference schedule and register for this event, visit JudsonU.edu/LiteracyInMotion.
