(ELGIN, IL – August 14, 2015) Judson University’s Center for Worship in the Performing Arts (CWPA) recently announced that alumnus Huntley Brown ’88 will serve as its first-ever artist-in-residence.

“I have known and loved the Rev. Brown for more than 30 years,” says CWPA Director Dr. Warren J. Anderson, “and I am thrilled that we can partner with him more formally via his serving as an artist-in-residence at Judson. Our students will be blessed by the opportunity to learn from someone as talented and passionate about worship as Huntley.”

The Rev. Brown, who was ordained by the Evangelical Church Alliance International, is a concert pianist and recording artist who travels internationally. He also regularly partners with some of Christianity’s well-known ministries, including the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Additionally, he has served as an artist-in-residence for CTS-TV in Seoul, South Korea; played for thousands at Carnegie Hall; been inducted into the Fox Valley Arts Hall of Fame; and holds a black belt in martial arts.

In 2014, he co-led a music ministry trip to his home country of Jamaica with the Judson University Choir. As part of his new role, he will co-lead a return visit to Jamaica in May 2016.

As an artist-in-residence at Judson University, the Rev. Brown will lecture on trends in global worship, give master classes in jazz piano, minister in concert with the Judson University Choir and serve as the worship leader for the biannual Judson University Cruise in January 2017.

“I am excited to return to Judson, where I received such valuable training and spiritual formation,” says Brown, who graduated from Judson in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in Music and served as a board trustee from 1998 to 2007. “I look forward to working with the next generation of Judson students God is raising up to impact the kingdom through worship and music.”
