Judson's RISE Program Celebrates Incoming Class with Welcome Event

RISE Welcome Event(ELGIN, IL – August 1, 2018) Judson University’s RISE Program for students with intellectual disabilities will celebrate its second incoming class and the first full year for its charter class with a RISE Welcome Event on Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 7:30-9 p.m., in Herrick Chapel (1151 N. State St., Elgin). The event is free and open to the public.

Altogether, 20 students will be in the RISE Program during the 2018-2019 school year.

The RISE Program is a two-year certificate of completion program for students, ages 18-25, with intellectual disabilities. During the two-year period, RISE students attend classes, learn life skills, attend chapel and participate in other campus activities.

Judson alum Dr. David Rendall ’95 will be the special guest speaker for the RISE Welcome Event. This uber-athlete who was once a leadership professor, stand-up comedian and nonprofit executive, now travels the world over as a motivational speaker. (He also regularly participates in ultramarathons and Ironman triathlons.) To date, Rendall has spoken on every inhabited continent.

A complimentary dessert reception will follow the program.
