Pastor, Radio Minister and Author James Ford to Speak at Judson
(ELGIN, IL – March 17, 2017) The Rev. Dr. James Ford Jr., senior pastor of Christ Bible Church of Chicago, will be the chapel speaker at Judson University on Friday, March 24, at 10 a.m. in Herrick Chapel (1151 N. State St., Elgin). The event is free and open to the public.
Best-known for his booming voice and words of conviction over the airwaves of Moody Radio during his nightly broadcast, “Treasured Truth,” Pastor Ford is a respected man of faith and ministry.
For more than 35 years, he has served as the senior pastor of Christ Bible Church (formerly South Shore Baptist Church), located on the Southside of Chicago. He is the president of Impact Ministries, an outreach ministry dedicated to strengthening families in the South Shore community of Chicago. He is also author of three Moody Publisher books: “When A Man Loves A Woman” ( 2011), “When A Woman Loves a Man” ( 2011) and “Seven Reasons Why God Created Marriage” ( 2009).
An international conference speaker, seminar leader and Bible teacher, Pastor Ford is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute. He completed his master’s degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Ill. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Saint Thomas Christian University in 2015.
Among his many accolades, Pastor Ford was honored this February as Moody’s 2017 Alumnus of the Year. Moreover, he has served on several boards, including the Baptist General Conference’s Board of World Missions; the Alumni Board of Moody Bible Institute; and the Board of Directors of Fellowship Christian Academy. And, he has taught at Moody Bible Institute and in Pacific Garden Mission’s Bible program in Chicago.
Married for more than 35 years, he and his wife, Leslie, have three children and six grandchildren and live in Chicago.
