Pastor James Ford of Christ Bible Church of Chicago to Speak at Judson

Rev. Dr. James Ford(ELGIN, IL – March 6, 2018) The Rev. Dr. James Ford Jr., senior pastor of Christ Bible Church of Chicago, will be the chapel speaker at Judson University on Friday, March 16, at 10 a.m. in Herrick Chapel (1151 N. State St., Elgin). The event is free and open to the public.

Pastor Ford spoke at Judson for the first time last March. Known for his wise sayings and wisecracks during his nightly radio broadcast, “Treasured Truth,” on Moody Radio, Pastor Ford is a respected man of faith.

For more than 35 years, he has served as the senior pastor of Christ Bible Church (formerly South Shore Baptist Church), located on the Southside of Chicago. He is also an international conference speaker, Bible teacher and author. A proud graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Pastor Ford also completed his master’s degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Ill. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Saint Thomas Christian University.

Last year, the reverend was honored as Moody Bible Institute’s Alumnus of the Year. Moreover, he has served on several boards, including the Baptist General Conference’s Board of World Missions; the Alumni Board of Moody Bible Institute; and the Board of Directors of Fellowship Christian Academy. And, he has taught at Moody Bible Institute and in Pacific Garden Mission’s Bible program in Chicago.

He and his wife, Leslie, have three children and nine grandchildren.
