Poet/Recording Artist Jackie Hill Perry Returns to Judson
(ELGIN, IL – December 14, 2016) Spoken-word artist Jackie Hill Perry will speak during chapel service at Judson University on Friday, Jan. 13, at 10 a.m. in Herrick Chapel (1151 N. State St., Elgin). The event is free and open to the public.
This will be Perry’s second visit to the Judson campus. It was during her first visit last April that she spoke of harrowing life experiences that included bullying, fatherlessness, molestation and homosexuality and how she ultimately found liberty in knowing Jesus Christ.
She now uses hip-hop rhythms and poetry to witness to youth about the relevance of God. The St. Louis native has shared her testimony with numerous ministry groups, including John Piper’s Desiring God blog, and in January 2014 she signed with the Christian hip-hop label, Humble Beast.
She and her husband, spoken-word artist Preston Perry, have one daughter.
