Polish Professors Give Recital: Judson University Christian College

Recital and Lecture from Polish Professors to be held September 18

(ELGIN, IL - September 4, 2009) A recital and lecture of Polish piano music featuring  Professor Andrzej Tatarski and his wife, Professor Dr. Janina Tatarska, will be held at Judson University on September 18 at 6 p.m. at Herrick Chapel.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a lecture on the traits and styles of Polish piano music.  The lecture will be presented by Professor Dr. Janina Tatarska, chair of the Composition and Music Theory Department at the Academy of Music in Poznan, Poland. At 7 p.m. Professor Andrzej Tatarski, an accomplished Polish pianist, will present a recital of romantic and contemporary piano music by such composers as Chopin, Paderewski, Szymanowski, Malawski.  Prof. Tatarski performed as a soloist and chamber musician across the globe in a career spanning several decades.  He has performed in Germany, France, Russia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, United States, among others.
