Scholarship Days Attract Academically Talented Students to Judson

Scholarship 1(ELGIN, IL – February 7, 2018) Each semester, Judson University extends an invitation to promising high school students to attend a Scholarship Day event. As the name implies, it is a day for prospective students to interview for selective scholarships at Judson University.

During the 2017-2018 academic year, Judson hosted two such events, one in December and the other on Saturday, Feb. 3.

In February, 46 students from 10 states – some as far as New York, Tennessee and Pennsylvania – were among the participants. Their majors ranged from Architecture and Education to Graphic Design and Music Performance.

On Scholarship Day, students hear testimonials from current students, enjoy a breakfast reception and interview with members of faculty and staff for available scholarships. They are also required to write an essay, and some are asked to audition. Meanwhile, parents can attend workshops that cover topics ranging from student success and campus safety to admissions and financial aid.

Scholarship 2“Scholarship Day provides an outstanding opportunity for Judson to connect with and learn more about some of the most academically talented students looking at Judson,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management and Strategic Planning Nancy Binger. “Our time together gives us the ability to showcase what a Judson experience looks like as well as reward the students we feel will make the most impact on our campus as leaders and students.”
