School of Education to Host Fifth Annual Literacy in Motion Conference June 17-20
(Elgin, IL - June 10, 2013) Judson's School of Education will host its annual "Literacy in Motion" Conference from Monday, June 17 to Thursday, June 20 at the Creekside South Education Building (1151 N. State St., Elgin).
This annual conference invites educators to hear from a diverse group of speakers about new instructional methods for elevating literacy in K-12 students. Educators that attend all four days of the conference can earn 18 CPDUs, or enroll for graduate credit in Judson's Master of Literacy program.
“'Literacy in Motion ' celebrates its fifth anniversary this year with a dazzling line up of national speakers,” says Dr. Steven Layne, event coordinator and director of Judson’s Master of Education in Literacy Program. “We have registrants from several U.S. states, Nova Scotia, Alberta, and even Australia! People are talking, and the word is that Judson consistently delivers top-quality literacy events at a very economical price."
Speakers for this year's conference will include several education and literacy experts such as Judson's own Dr. Steven Layne, nationally-known literacy consultants Cris Tovani and Debbie Diller, renowned storybook illustrator Chris Soentpiet, Newberry Medal author Linda Sue Park, reading aptitude expert Danny Brassell, and many more.
