Spring Break Mission Trips Take Judson Students Around the World
(Elgin, Ill. – March 4, 2011) More than 55 students, faculty and staff received Judson’s blessing during chapel this morning as they prepare to board planes and begin car trips as they journey to one of the six mission trips taking place during Judson University’s May 4-9 spring break.
Students and the faculty and staff who serve as leaders will be going to:
Chicago Urban Experience with Sunshine Gospel Ministries – students will be educated about God’s heart for the poor while serving in different ministry settings throughout Chicago.
Adventure Learning Center in the Bahamas – students will serve at local orphanages and the AIDS camp and also share Christ with the local school children.
Mount St. Vincent School in Denver – students will serve as teacher assistants at this school and home for preschool and elementary aged kids coming from very difficult family situations.
Apparent Project in Haiti – Judson’s Youth Ministry Class will build friends and serve the women in the beading program as they work to earn a living to support their families.
Del Camino Network in the Dominican Republic – the team will partner with a local church to build lasting friendships with the Dominican people and serve alongside them for a service project.
Coming this May 1-11 – Paz y Esperanza in Peru – a team will be educated about domestic violence issues in Huanuco and Peru, participate in awareness-raising campaigns and share life with the staff and community of Paz y Esperanza.
