The Judson University Choir Prepares to Embark on Four-State Winter Tour

Winter Choir Tour 2017(ELGIN, IL – January 10, 2017) Judson University Choir members will take their talents on the road as they embark on a four-state, five-city performance tour beginning Saturday, Jan. 28. The tour will run through Tuesday, Jan. 31.

As many as 50 singers and musicians will travel, along with Judson Choir Director Dr. Warren J. Anderson, to a school and churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Illinois over a four-day period.

"I am excited to take 50 or so of Judson's best and brightest students out East and back again this winter. This is our largest touring group in a couple of years, and I know they will be a blessing to the churches and the school where we will be ministering, especially since we have such strong connections at each location," said Dr. Anderson.

The itinerary includes tour stops that have personal connections to Judson students, past and present:

On Sunday, Jan. 29, the choir will perform at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church (303 W. High St.) in Waynesburg, Penn. The church’s youth minister, Jason Pagel, is a cousin of current Judson students Sari and Daniel Flage.

On Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m., choir members will sing at Vineyard Columbus (6000 Cooper Rd.) in Westerville, Ohio. Alumna Lilia [Griffin] Morales ’00 is director of the children’s choir, which will open for and sing with the Judson University Choir.

On Monday night, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m., choir members will be the guests of Meadows Christian Fellowship (2401 Kirchoff Rd.) in Rolling Meadows, Ill. Alumni Greg ’86 and Cyndi [Davis] Dulski ’86 attend this church, as does their son, current Judson student Nathaniel Dulski. Choir Director Dr. Anderson served as this church’s worship leader and director of Choral Ministries from 1992-2006.

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, the tour will include performances in Gurnee, Ill., and Milwaukee, Wis.

At 1:30 p.m., the choir will sing at New Testament Christian Academy (10201 W. Bradley Rd.) in Milwaukee, where alumnus John Larry ’03 is a teacher.

At 7 p.m., the chorus will close out its performance tour with a celebration at Gurnee Community Church (4555 Old Grand Ave.) in Gurnee, where alumnus Luke Copeland ’12 serves as the worship leader and current student Mallory Lense is a member.

Please pray for their safe travels and effective ministry.
