Marjorie Thulin Passes: Judson University Christian College

Thulin Performance Hall Namesake Will Be Missed

(ELGIN, IL - August 31, 2009) Judson music and theater fans will want to note that long-time Judson friend Marjorie Frances Hall Thulin passed away June 28 and her life was honored at a July 18 service. Thulin was the namesake for the Marjorie Thulin Fine Arts Performance Hall in the Edward and Alice Thompson Center. A resident of Glencoe and member of the Glencoe Union Church, Thulin was an avid supporter of Judson’s music and theater programs. Thulin was a 1931 graduate of the University of Illinois and enjoyed a successful career in advertising, published poetry and children's literature, and edited a book on the history of Glencoe. She loved culture, arts and helping young people directed correctly in the beginning of their lives. Her legacy and commitment to the arts will be remembered through Judson's continued use of the Marjorie Thulin Fine Arts Performance Hall.
