JSO Positions

STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT

Presides over all meetings of the JSO and acts as the connector between the Student Body and the Judson University faculty, staff,administration, board of trustees, and alumni. Gives speeches,serves on committees, runs meetings and evaluates staff. (Position is nominated and elected)

VICE PRESIDENT FOR SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Chairs the Social Activities Branch that is made up of SocialActivity Coordinators, BASIC and International ActivityCoordinators, and Commuter Presidents. Leads Social Activities members to fulfill their primary responsibility of coordinating campus activities and events - such as Homecoming and large-scale campus wide events.

MARKETING SPECIALIST

The Marketing Specialist position creates and maintains a brand for JSO. While assisting the publicists and videographers, they oversee the PR branch and all advertising that is used on campus for promoting events and causes as well as JSO. They also manage all JSO social media and work with the Communications/Marketing department of the University to promote student life and communicate with the student body.

TREASURER

Oversees all funds allocated to the JSO and maintains careful record of the collection and distribution of funds. Provides monthly financial reports to the JSO.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT

Coordinates communication for JSO. Maintains a permanent historical file of JSO meeting minutes. Coordinates and distributesJSO monthly calendar to student body.

IT SPECIALIST

Coordinates and develops content for the Judson University website related to JSO. Partner with various members of JSO and the student body to report on different events and aspects that faithfully represent life at Judson University via the web.

PUBLICIST

The publicist is hired to create and manage all advertising needed by various members of JSO. Must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop and other editing programs.

VIDEOGRAPHER

Creates and manages all video content that is required by members of JSO or student development in order to promote or explain various events and causes. Must be proficient in video editing and filming.

CAMPUS ACTIVITY PLANNER (CAP)

Campus Activity Planners plan 8 events as a team of 5 individuals. The CAPS will serve the community through planning and executing events, representing concerns of the student body to the best of their ability, and respond to feedback regarding changes and events on campus. The events shall be engaging and encourage community through shared experience and activity.

DORM PRESIDENT

Coordinates regular social, spiritual and educational events for dorm to promote dorm identity, unity, awareness, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Also represents the needs of the dorm to student development and the university as a whole. Serves as a member of the ResLife staff for the upcoming school year.

COMMUTER PRESIDENT

Coordinates regular social events for commuter students to promote commuter identity, unity, awareness, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Also represents the needs of the commuter population to student development and the university as a whole.(Position is nominated and elected)

BASIC ACTIVITY COORDINATOR

Plan activities promoting and educating about diversity on our campus.

INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY COORDINATOR

The international representative also works closely with the international and intercultural advisor to plan programming which will unite and serve the international students.

University Ministries Positions

UM ADMINISTRATOR

Handles administrative tasks including communicating with chapel speakers, helping prepare for retreats, and assisting students with knowing how many chapel credits they have accrued. Main goal is to keep Chris' path clear of nonessential tasks and decisions so thatChris can do what only he can do.

GRANDPARENT MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Connects students of Judson University to local "grandparents"in the area. The main goals are to increase student awareness, plan events to involve students in the ministry, and intentionally pouring time into a core group of interested students who will consistently attend.

CLIFFORD COURT COORDINATOR

Connects students of Judson University to local children in theClifford Court community. The main goals are to increase student awareness, plan events to involve students in the ministry, and intentionally pouring time into a core group of interested students who will consistently attend.

HOMELESS MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Connects students of Judson University to the homeless in both the local area and downtown. The main goals are to increase student awareness, plan events to involve students in the ministry, and intentionally pouring time into a core group of interested students who will consistently attend.

GLOBAL OUTREACH COORDINATOR

Assists the Global Outreach Advisor in overseeing and coordinating the process of all Judson University, co-curricular outreach projects. Team members will guide the outreach process from beginning to end included assisting receiving applications,assembling teams, preparing and facilitating the Fall OutreachSeminar and Spring Outreach Retreat, and assisting students with sending out support letters and receiving funding.

FCA COORDINATOR

The FCA Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the weeklyFCA program in order to serve (specifically but not exclusively)our student athlete population. The coordinator will manage the budget, plan and disciple FCA meetings and connect with student athletes.

CHAPEL WORSHIP LEADER

The role of the Chapel Worship Team Leader is to participate seeking to serve the overall mission of chapel which is to "make plain the whole gospel to the whole person for the good of the whole world" through overseeing a group of students who are passionate about worship and desire to use their gifts to serve God by serving the student body here at Judson University. This includes leading the Judson student body into corporate musical worship during chapel and intentionally leading and discipling a team of musicians.

AESTHETICS DIRECTOR

The role of the Chapel Aesthetics Team Leader is to participate seeking to serve the overall mission of chapel which is to "make plain the whole gospel to the whole person for the good of the whole world" through creating an intentional environment within the chapel space that provides hospitality and draws people into worship. This includes leading a team of students to help accomplish the overall mission of chapel through aesthetics,cultivating creativity and encouraging the best out of each team member.

MEDIA COORDINATOR

The role of the Chapel Media Coordinator is to participate seeking to serve the overall mission of chapel which is to "make plain the whole gospel to the whole person for the good of the whole world" through providing excellent and intentional visual content for chapel. This includes serving God by serving the student body at Judson University by overseeing all visual onscreen or printed content for chapel.

CHAPEL PRODUCER

The role of the Producer is to serve the overall mission of chapel which is to "make plain the whole gospel to the whole person for the good of the whole world" through overseeing the chapel services. The Producer exists to serve God through serving the student body. This is accomplished by coordinating all participants, elements, and media for the chapel service with the express aim of eliminating all potential distractions so students can better fully engage in chapel.

STAGE MANAGER

The role of the chapel stage manager is to participate seeking to serve the overall mission of chapel which is to "make plain the whole gospel to the whole person for the good of the whole world"through overseeing and helping facilitate series chapels. The chapel stage manager exists to serve God through serving the student body. This is accomplished by overseeing all aspects of series chapels and providing leadership that advocates for and creates cohesion among every element and participant of the service.

DANCE TEAM LEADER

The role of the Chapel Dance Leader is to participate seeking to serve the overall mission of chapel which is to "make plain the whole gospel to the whole person for the good of the whole world"through creating and performing dances with excellence. The chapel dance leader exists to serve God through serving the student body.This is accomplished by leading their peers into worship through dance and discipling a team of dancers.

DRAMA TEAM LEADER

The role of the Chapel Drama Leader is to participate seeking to serve the overall mission of chapel which is to "make plain the whole gospel to the whole person for the good of the whole world"through creating and performing dramas with excellence. The chapel drama leader exists to serve God through serving the student body.This is accomplished by leading their peers through humorous,thought-provoking and worshipful dramas that are done with excellence.

Residence Life Positions

RESIDENT ASSISTANT

RAs are responsible to assist in creating and maintaining a living/learning environment by serving the dorm by having on duty nights, hosting small groups, planning and executing events for the dorm and contributing to the overall well-being of the dorm.
