Christian Ministries
You were made for this!
For over 15 years, the Department of Christian Ministries has been a leader in undergraduate ministry education. In addition to excellent, experienced faculty, there are a number of things that make us unique among Christian ministry programs:
Globally-Engaged Faculty:
From leading a ministry to youth on 22 military bases in Europe, to partnering with a ministry in Haiti, to teaching in Africa and Russia, the faculty has significant involvement with God’s work around the world.
Intercultural Ministry Experience:
Through the Intercultural Ministries course, including a trip to Haiti, students develop a biblically-based approach to short-term missions as well as the skills needed to lead groups internationally.
Fair Trade Initiative:
Students and faculty are working together to develop a partnership with the Apparent Project in Haiti, where Haitian women are being given the opportunity to earn income by producing jewelry that is sold here in the US.
Field Experience:
Students complete nearly two and a half years of field experience where they apply their skills and knowledge in real world ministry settings.
Multiple Program Options:
With two degree options, each with multiple concentrations, students have the ability to explore a variety of ministry types.
- BA in Youth Ministry & Adolescent Studies with concentrations in Church/Para-church Ministry, Social Service Ministries, Sports Ministry, and Missions/Intercultural Youth Ministry.
- BA in Christian Ministries with concentrations in Children & Family Ministries, Adult Ministries, Missions, and Social Justice Ministries as well as an opportunity to customize a concentration.
Social Justice Ministries:
Working in partnership with Judson’s sociology department, we have created a concentration for those interested in ministry among the poor, oppressed, or marginalized in our society.
Comprehensive Approach:
Students in our programs receive a comprehensive education integrating foundational knowledge, the development of essential ministry skills, and the encouragement and assistance to develop a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Community:
Simply put, we enjoy each other and enjoy spending time together as a Christ-centered learning community!
