Susan N. Harris is a visiting professor of design.  She has spent the past several years working in the Chicago firms Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, and Serena Sturm Architects, and traveling for a book she is currently researching and writing. She has had the privilege of working on projects locally as well as those on other parts of the globe, from small scale residential to high-profile skyscrapers. Her research interests include the psychology of human interaction and cognitive response to the built environment. She teaches in the first and second year design studios where she challenges students to recognize the implication and strength that space has on the human experience.
