Biography
Professor Jeffery Carl is a native of suburban Chicago who has taught drawing, painting, illustration, art history, and fine art seminars at Judson University for over 12 years. He earned a BFA in Illustration, an MA in Studio Art, and an MFA in Drawing and Painting from Northern Illinois University. His work has been exhibited both regionally and nationally and can be seen at www.jefferycarl.com. Through drawing and painting he imagines the natural movements described by geology, meteorology and astrophysics as metaphors for supernatural processes.
He admires the historical depth of Kerry James Marshall's work, the curiosity of Gabriel Orozco's, and the beauty of Brice Marden's. He also loves American history, NPR, indie rock, science fiction, foodie television, and percussion.
