Design Majors

Visual Communications: Graphic Design

70 credit BA degree program
The 4-year graphic design Bachelor of Arts degree equips students with the knowledge, skills, and professional practice needed for a successful career in graphic design including: print, packaging, web and multi-media design.

Our graphic design students have dedicated studio spaces, a print media lab, a versatile Mac environment and a digital photography studio at their fingertips. All of our students are required to gain professional internship experience that can begin as early as the conclusion of their second year (our Internship Seminar and Practicum course helps students prepare for this experience). This enables our students to experience the design profession and build career-ready portfolios early in their degree program. The major also includes opportunities to study off-campus both nationally and internationally. Students interested in web design may choose to receive an online certificate in Web Administration and Design while at Judson University.

Visual Communications: Photography

79 credit BA degree program
Students may pursue a concentration in photography while receiving the core graphic design degree. Students will explore both traditional darkroom and digital photography, and graduate prepared to pursue one of the many careers available in photography. These students may also choose to study off-campus.

Alyssa Low - Student

Alyssa LowWhen a representative from the New York Center of Arts and Media Studies (NYCAMS) visited Judson to speak about the program, then sophomore Visual Communications student Alyssa Low knew it was an opportunity she couldn’t pass up. She filled out the application, submitted her portfolio, and after waiting a month received her acceptance email.
