Thomas H. Berliner Profile
Tom is a seasoned educator, senior business consultant, author and entrepreneur. He is the Dean of the School of Leadership and Business at Judson University in Elgin, Illinois, overseeing traditional, adult degree completion, graduate and online education programs as well as certificate and consulting offerings.
Tom is a well-published author, having written four books and a host of articles. He writes monthly columns on leadership for two newspapers in Illinois. Along with his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Dallas, he has an M.B.A. from Adelphi University in New York and a B.A. in English from Ohio University. The great majority of Tom's professional experience is drawn from business rather than academe. In addition to working for IBM, Tom has been a director in the Arkansas Governor's Office (under two governors), been president of a telecommunications company and been a consultant for over three decades. His consulting clients have included Abbott, American Airlines, Caterpillar, Champion Technologies, Chubb Insurance, Entergy, Ford, Johnnie Cochran Law Firm, Nestlé, Raytheon, Trammell Crow, Xerox and numerous others, both well known and not. Tom continues to consult to a handful of organizations as a complement to his work at Judson University.
Tom's primary values center around his faith and his family. He enjoys a variety of sports, more as a participant than as a spectator. He also enjoys writing fiction, having completed several novels and a host of short stories.
