Biography
Professor Joy Towner began teaching in District 205 in Elmhurst, IL. While teaching fourth grade, she realized that she desired to know more about how to teach reading, so she began earning her master's degree in Reading Education. After completing this degree, she became the building reading specialist and Reading Recovery teacher. She began teaching as an adjunct professor at Judson in 2003. She lives in Carpentersville with her husband and two children. You may see her cheering on her son's basketball team or rooting for her daughter at an Irish Step dance competition. She also teaches Sunday school and leads Awana at First Baptist of Elgin where she is a member.
