Biography
Professor Kristen Stombres is a Judson graduate. She began teaching in District 300, Carpentersville; 1st and 5th grades. Kristen returned to the Judson Teacher Education program when it had only been on campus for two years. This is her 24th year of service! You may also see Professor Stombres in various elementary classrooms throughout the Fox Valley engaged in literacy activities! She is chair of the Parents in Reading Committee for the Illinois Reading Council and is on the Board of Directors for the Northern Illinois Reading Council. Professor Stombres is the President of College Instructors of Reading Professionals. She is a member of First Baptist Geneva. Professor Stombres' home is in St. Charles where she lives with her husband Jim and their three children. Awards include: Northern Illinois Reading Council-Award for Excellence, CCCU-Outstanding Alumni Award, Judson Distinguished Alumni Award.
