Biography

Pianist Nancy Lemons received the Bachelor of Music Degree, and pursued Graduate Studies, at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. She also received the Diploma in Church Music from Moody Bible Institute, and has most recently studied with Katherine Glaser, herself a former student of Artur Schnabel and Pablo Casals. Mrs. Lemons performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist. She has appeared with numerous musicians locally and throughout the United States in programs such as New Music Chicago and The Florida West Coast Chamber Players Concert Series, and has appeared at The University of Chicago, DePaul University, Roosevelt University, The Sherwood Conservatory of Music, Harold Washington Library, Sulzer Regional Library, and numerous churches and other venues. She takes particular delight in collaborations with her husband, composer Christopher Lemons, in the performance of his chamber works for piano and electric guitar.

At Judson University, Mrs. Lemons regularly teaches Piano and Keyboard Harmony, and has also taught courses in Piano Accompanying, Piano Pedagogy, and Piano Literature. She maintains a private studio in Chicago, where she works with students of all ages, and all levels of achievement-from beginners to professional pianists. She is a frequent adjudicator for area piano competitions and has presented workshops for piano teachers. Mrs. Lemons is a member of the Society of American Musicians, Music Teachers National Association, Illinois Music Teachers Association, and Chicago Area Music Teachers Association.
