New Student Registration Packet

We are excited that you have decided on attending Judson. If you are receiving this link you have been officially admitted to Judson and need to take the next step! We have two options for you to register. 1) Follow the steps below and register via email/web with your advisor 2)Follow the steps below, but when sending your email to your advisor request a meeting on campus.

If you are having trouble connecting with your advisor forward your original email to and she will assist in making this connection.

Your login was emailed to the email account you put on your application. Cannot login to MyJudson or Judsonemail? These are important sites that contain everything you need to know in order to navigate around Judson. You need to check your Judson email regularly.

Inside MyJudson you will find a ton of resources such as your unofficial transcript, grades, and a degree audit. The degree audit identifies the courses required for graduation based on the major you have selected. It pulls in your transfer courses and tracks the completion and registration of future courses, providing you with a nice tracking system. Take some time to learn your way around MyJudson.
How to read your audit video.

Your deposit will need to be paid in order for you to register for classes. If you have not taken care of this yet, please do so before moving on through the next steps.

Steps to register:

  1. You will need to identify your advisor. How to identify my advisor video

  2. You can now connect with your advisor through your Judson email account. Use only your Judson email account to proceed. Please email your advisor. The subject line should display your name, Id number, and state you are an incoming student for the spring 2013 term. Example: SubjectLine Ginny Guth 123456 Incoming Spring 2013 (If you are an Architecture student please email Cindi Zarris at or Keelan Kaiser at If you desire to meet on campus over the summer please include that request in this email and coordinate a time that works for both you and the advisor.

    In the body of your email you should introduce yourself, tell them something about yourself, and let them know you are interested in registering for the upcoming term. If you are a transfer student, be sure to let them know that. If you have some courses that you feel should be applied to your degree requirements here is where you can attach those course descriptions for review.

    If you login and notice your major is incorrect you will need to complete this form to change your major. Signatures are not required. Email this to

  3. Go ahead and login to MyJudson and update your profile information and approve the registration agreement - this way you and your advisor can get to work right away. If you click on course schedule and registration you will see both the profile and the agreement for spring 2013.

  4. Your advisor should respond to you within a week. If you do not have a response from the advisor within a week forward your original email to me and I will assist you in making thisconnections.   5. Prepare for your advisor meeting. You prepare by reviewing your 4 year plan and degree audit. The 4 year plans are located in the resource section of your MyJudson. How to find resources video. The 4 year plan has been designed to help you stay on track for graduation. If you have transfer work, your 4 year plan will need to be adjusted based on what transferred in. By using your degree audit and the 4 year plan you should be able to identify the courses needed each term.

    Your meeting may be held via the phone, in person, or you may continue with communicating via email. This will be up to you and your advisor. When the advisor feels you have a good understanding of the program and you have decided on what courses to take for the upcoming terms they will open your registration screens.

  6. Now you are ready to register. How to register video.You will need to sign the registration agreement for each term in which you register.

  7. Don’t forget to take care of your Financial Aid acceptance. To do that, login to MyJudson again and click on Financial Aid from the menu at the top of the page, then click on Financial Aid Awards. After you have viewed your financial aid package, you will need to accept and/or decline the awards offered to you by accessing the link to “Accept/Decline Aid”.

    Please take some time to review the Award Conditions located on this page. These conditions contain important information regarding your rights and responsibilities, so please become familiar with them. Estimated Tuition and Fees are also accessible on our page.

  8. Full payment is due two weeks before classes begin. A monthly payment plan can be arranged in lieu of paying the full amount by thedue date.   9. Housing – the housing form is located inside MyJudson. Click on Student Info, then Student Development and Housing. Contact information is located in their MyJudson site. Questions? Call the Housing Office at 847-628-1567 M, W, TH 10:00AM - 2:00PM

  10. Health ServicesA. Every student is required to have a physical within one year prior to the first day of classes. Please have your physician fill out this portion on the back of the Pre-Entrance Medical form. Proof of state required immunizations is required by the Illinois Department of Public Health. These include:

    1. The date of your last Tetanus booster
    2. Two dates for the MMR (Measles/Mumps/Rubella) immunization. Either attach a copy of your Immunization record to the Pre-Entrance Medical form or note the immunizations on the back of the form.

    B. All traditional students taking 6+ credit hours, including Graduate and Post Graduate Architecture students, are required to show proof of Health Insurance coverage. All students are automatically enrolled in the Judson Student Health Insurance Plan with the charge automatically going on their Student Account. Students not wanting the JU Insurance must submit the Insurance Waiver form along with a copy of the front and back of their insurance card. Call 847-628-2465 with any questions.

  11. ID Pictures – every student will need an ID card. If you live in the area feel free to stop by the Registrar’s Office over the summer for your photo shoot. We are open Monday – Friday from 9:00 to 5:00, but close on Wednesdays from 1:00 – 2:00 for staff meetings. Please feel free to call and confirm at time if you would like. 847-628-1155.
