Application Information

Apply to Judson University 

Judson University seeks students with academic ability, personal promise, strong motivation, seriousness of purpose, and high moral character. Admission is based on a careful review of credentials.

First Time Students:

First time students are students who have less than 28 semester credit hours or have no prior college coursework.

First time students are best served if they have taken a sequence of college preparatory courses in high school. It is strongly recommended that each student have the following course foundation:

  • Four years of English
  • Three years of math
  • Two years of social science
  • Two years of lab science

First time student admission requirements:

The Academic Policies Committee has established the following minimal admissions standards for first time college applicants:

  • Class rank at the 50th percentile.
  • Composite ACT of 21 or composite SAT of 990.
  • GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale).

The Admissions Review Committee will evaluate applicants who do not meet the minimal admission standards. A limited number of marginal candidates who demonstrate strong potential to succeed in college will be accepted to the university.

First time applicants will need to submit the following:

  • A completed application with the $50 application fee (waived until Jan. 1).
  • An official transcript (6 semesters or more) of your academic record sent by the high school from which you graduated or will graduate.
  • The official results of the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) sent by the ACT program or College Board, respectively.  The Judson ACT code is 1101; SAT code is 1351.
  • A signed copy of the Judson University Lifestyle Statement.
  • Academic Reference form.

Transfer Students:

Transfer students are students who have completed 28 semester credit hours.

Transfer student admission requirements:

  • Submission of completed application with the $50 application fee (waived until Jan. 1).
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) of all prior college coursework.
  • Submission of all official transcripts from institutions attended prior to Judson University.

Re-admit Students:

Re-admit students are students who have withdrawn or been absent for a semester.

Re-admit Student Broken Residence Policy:
Students who discontinue and then return to Judson after an absence of two or more years have broken residence and are required to meet the graduation requirements of the catalog in effect on their return.

Directions for completing your re-admit application:
You are responsible for presenting the following application for readmission to Judson University. Please typewrite or print legibly in ink. You will be notified of the admission decision after all materials have been received. All materials and correspondence should be sent to the Admissions Office, Judson University, 1151 N State St, Elgin, IL 60123. 

SECTION I
You will need to send the following: 

  • The completed application for re-admission with the $50 application fee (waived until Jan. 1).
  • Official transcripts of all academic work completed at other colleges since leaving Judson University.

SECTION II

  • If you are accepted for re-admission to Judson University, you will need to return a “Place in Class” deposit. Resident students will need to send in a completed Residence Reservation form, as well. All students must supply the Health Center with the necessary medical forms and immunization records. It is necessary, as well, that students obtain health insurance through the school or supply a “Waiver of Insurance Form” instead.
