Adjunct Instructor of Chemistry

Job Summary:

The Department of Science and Mathematics at Judson University seeks applications from individuals to teach Analytical Chemistry w/lab for the Spring semester of 2021. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry with experience in Instrumentation.

Primary Responsibilities:

The position requires teaching 3 lectures (150 minutes total) and 2 labs (300 minutes total) per week in Analytical Chemistry. Instructor will prepare lessons (lecture and/or activity), select homework assignments (these can be completed using an online homework system such as Sapling), and create tests and quizzes over the prescribed textbook sections, respond to student questions (often via email), and evaluate student work.

Qualifications:

Candidates must 1) hold a master’s degree, doctorate preferred, in chemistry, 2) demonstrate an active and growing Christian faith, 3) share a commitment to excellence in teaching within a Christ-centered academic community, and 4) possess collaborative skills to work with colleagues across the Science and Mathematics Department and throughout the university.

Salary/Benefits:
Adjunct faculty hold the rank of instructor and are hired on a per course basis.
