Adjunct Instructor of Literature

Job Summary:

The Department of English seeks an adjunct instructor to teach one or more of the following courses in literature: ENG262—British Literature (a survey for majors); ENG360—World Clas-sics: European (general education), ENG365—Plays that Shaped the Western World (general education, online course), ENG465—Shakespeare: Plays and Performance (for advanced ma-jors), or a theme-based course.

Primary Responsibilities:

The instructor will design a course based on the official catalog description for the course. In-structors are responsible for composing a syllabus, selecting textbooks, creating appropriate les-son plans and assignments, grading papers, holding regular office hours, and submitting both midterm and final grades.

Qualifications:

Candidates should 1) hold at least a master’s degree in English Language and Literature; 2) share a commitment to excellence in teaching within a Christ-centered academic community; and 3) demonstrate a vital and growing Christian faith.

Salary/Benefits:
Adjunct faculty hold the rank of instructor and are hired on a per course basis.
