Exercise & Sport Science Assistant or Associate Professor

Job Summary:

A full-time position in Exercise & Sport Science, at the assistant or associate level, starting AY 2020-2021. This faculty member will teach in the Exercise & Sport Science Department with primary teaching responsibilities within the Health Promotion & Performance major.

Primary Responsibilities:

This full-time position will: 1) Teach undergraduate courses in the Exercise & Sport Science Department, with primary focus in Health Promotion & Performance; including (but not limited to) courses in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Lifespan Motor Development, Nutrition, Activity Assessment and Measurement, as well as other courses identified by the department. 2) Meet program goals (within face-to-face and online environments) through creative pedagogies, interactive discussions, reflective assignments/assessments, and experiential learning opportunities. 3) Mentor and advise undergraduate students in the Exercise & Sport Science Department and serve as a team player by collaborating with faculty to foster student and program success. 4) Conduct scholarly work in the form of research and/or service to the profession, and maintain active memberships in relevant professional associations/organizations. 5) Be committed to excellence in teaching and academic advising, collaborative curriculum development, and service on departmental, college, and university committees.


Candidates must 1) have a terminal degree (master’s degree, doctorate preferred,) in Exercise Science, Human Performance, Kinesiology, Health Science, or related field, Candidates with a doctorate in Physical Therapy are preferred. 2) share a commitment to excellence in teaching within a Christ-centered academic community, 3) Support Christian liberal arts education, with the ability to integrate faith in the discipline in an engaging and compelling manner, and 4) possess collaborative skills to work with colleagues in the department and throughout the University.
