Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, Assistant or Associate Professor

Job Summary

This position is a full-time, professional track faculty position, starting AY 2021-2022. This faculty member will be responsible for teaching in and mentoring students enrolled in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.

Primary Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Teach courses in the Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at both the Elgin and Rockford Campuses.
  • Teach courses virtually as needed.
  • Teach courses in the Master’s in Human Services Program as needed.
  • Teach in the Bachelor’s in Human Services program as needed.
  • Teach in the Bachelor’s in Psychology program as needed.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Remain professionally active, keeping pace with current teaching, and learning theories and developments in the Program field.
  • Participate in all Division of Professional Studies staff development, training events and outside meetings as agreed upon by the Department Chair and/or Administration.
  • Participate on all committees which are assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or Administration.
  • Upon agreement with the Department Chair, office hours will be determined and posted.
Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, preferably from a CACREP accredited institution, OR doctoral degree in a related field with full-time employment experience as Counselor Education faculty for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
  • Certification and/or licensure related to counseling specialty.
  • Commitment to Christ-centered Christian higher education.
  • Demonstrate an active and growing Christian faith.
  • Support Christian liberal arts education, with the ability to integrate faith in the discipline in an engaging and compelling manner.
  • One year of full-time, higher education faculty teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to promote the Program and represent Judson University to various stakeholders, both within and outside the University, and to work collegially with them
  • Ability to assist with recruitment for the Program.
  • Ability to interact well with Division of Professional Studies faculty, present and prospective students, staff and visitors, as well as other offices, departments and faculty within Judson University.
  • Ability to work well with many individuals with diverse issues and needs.
  • Active service to the community as a representative of the Division of Professional Studies and Judson University, in general.
